Or the innocent Spaniard…or how peaceful the Mexicans were to their Native Mexicans or the Apaches. …We celebrate the establisment of the Tucson Presidio like it was the opening of a shopping mall. It was an invasion. The Apaches hated the Mexicans. I don’t blame them. The Apaches mistake was that they should have killed every one they found. That way they would not have been conquered. History is that way.
I feel bad about how we treated the American Natives. But I also feel bad how my European relatives (2,000 years ago) were conquered by the Romans. They fought back in many very large battles not matched until the era of Napleon. Like elections, battles have consequences.
